This is... a collaboration of sorts. I guess. It sorta worked out this way.

My sister, heart_mint wrote the story, and I drew the accompanying pictures.

It's about AU AA-ville, where Phoenix never becomes a lawyer and instead becomes head of a mafia famiglia. 8D 8D

1. Of Integrity “Honor among thieves, or something like that. It’s not so bad,” “Thieves, yes. Honor, no,” Phoenix snorts. “I don’t want to be capo. I want to be a lawyer. A defense attorney, like you." When he looks at Mia, his spirit was strong and unwavering. "There's someone I need to help." Not like me, she thinks. “And what does your father think of that?” “’No son of mine,” Phoenix quotes haughtily, “is gonna be some kinda self-righteous upholder of the law.’ Really, Mia. I hate him, sometimes. I don’t ever want to be like him.” Mia looks away from him and thinks about Maya and Aunt Morgan and Diego, and tries very hard not to think of her mother. “Well, we can’t all be what we want to be,” she says, putting a hand on her magatama. 2. Of Thieves He catches sight of Edgeworth walking in their direction as they’re leaving the courtroom. He was impossible to miss, really; pale hair, lavish suit, stick firmly up ass. He was dimly aware of Mia reminding him not to say anything to the paparazzi outside. “Waltzing in and out of the courthouse with your disgusting pet lawyer,” Edgeworth says as he passes, just loud enough for them to hear. “I don’t know why I ever expected anything else from you, Wright.” Phoenix freezes for a second, then turns and watches as Edgeworth stalks into a courtroom. Beside him, Mia also pauses. “At least he remembers who you are,” she murmurs. His heart hammers inside his chest even as the surprise disappears from his face. 3. Of Honor It was all over the news, of course. “Prosecutor Accused of Murder” and “Ace Prosecutor’s Unsavory Past Comes to Light”, A1 front page everywhere. A lifetime ago, he had wanted to be lawyer; at least now he had other resources at his disposal. He would offer Mia’s services if he didn’t already know that Edgeworth wouldn’t accept it. He would call Mia, first, and ask her to find an attorney who was willing to represent Edgeworth one who wasn’t publicly associated with the mob. Maybe Kristoph would take on this case; he owed Phoenix a favor. Maya would help him find some information on this Manfred von Karma. And maybe, if none of that worked out…. He fidgets with Shelly’s calling card. He knew he owed Edgeworth this much, at least. There was honor among thieves, after all.

I think this had to do with her promising to write fanfic if I drew fanart for it.
