The Beast and the Tamer

"Draw something colourful and poppish," she said.
"wtf u mean," I asked.
"I dunno, draw whatever the hell you want. Just something colourful and poppish."
"I dun get it," I said.
But then I thought: "Circuses are... colourful." And also: "Circuses are... poppish."
And I don't know how true that statement really is, but I will never be convinced otherwise.
So I drew this. Now, some people can say that this pic has lots of symbolism and allegory and Deep Shit, but I'll be the first to admit that I just wanted to draw a nice-looking picture. I like circuses... and I like tribal motifs (to a certain degree), so I slammed the two together.
The composition is just a liiiiiittle off, to me, but my computer was lagging to much for me to shift it around. Overall though, I'm quite happy with how this turned out. I guess drawing compositional thumbnails before starting really does help.
...I just realized I forgot a bit. I wonder if I should add it in now... *sigh* It wouldn't be so bad if my computer wasn't so laggy.
Anyway, concept to completion: less than 24 hours.
Also: The beast isn't a badger... it's supposed to be a panther.
Also2: Someone tell me why I find this pic so hilarious:
